Are used to protect the legs while the horse is at exercise. They are usually 7cm (3") wide and are made of stockinet, crepe, or various synthetic materials, which should be slightly elastic. They cover the leg between the knee/hock and the fetlock joint and should not interfere with the joint movement. They should be used with gamgee or fibregee underneath.

Used under the saddle when the horse is clipped to keep his back warm, but it allows him to do fast work without getting too hot and also prevents him from catching a chill on the walk out and home. They can be made of many different materials including being waterproof.

Eyes
Are generally brown, but occasionally may be blue (known as a walleye) due to lack of pigmentation. Pink or red eyes have no pigmentation at all, as in the albino.
