Kineton noseband
Has an adjustable leather front fitted to a metal loop on each side. The loops are hooked round the mouthpiece of the bit, between the bit ring and the horse's mouth. When fitted correctly the effect is that the 'pull' from the reins is partially or wholly transferred to the front of the nose. When fitting, the front should be the width of a hand above the nostrils ensuring that it is on the bone of the nose not on the 'cartilage'. The tighter the strap, the greater the pressure on the nose in relation to that on the bars of the mouth.
