Circles

Circles are the 'bread and butter' of school work.

Although they look as if they should be easy, executing circles with the correct bend, that are circular, keeping the horse forward going, and not falling in (veering towards the centre of the circle) is not as simple as it looks.

Circles

Circles can be any size but 10m, 15m and 20m are commom as they are easier to judge against the dimensions of the school.

Next - serpentines.

It all makes sense now!
I've just had my second lesson today - the teacher kept saying will do 20m circles at... but didn't really explain what it was so it was pot luck whether I turned the right way or not!

Thanks for filling me in.

I no what I was doing wrong now! I wasn't going out far enough 2 X and it was more an oblong than a circle!
Oh well, we all have to learn!
