    Introduction to Sports Psychology event

To be held on Saturday, 10th March 2012 from 5.30pm for a 6.00pm start at

    The Black Bull
    36 Lumley Street
    West Yorkshire
    WF10 5LH

Julia M Gosney BHSAI will be taking us through how Sports Psychology can help horse riders of any age, experience or competing level.

As we have all experienced, once we have learnt the technical aspects of how to ride it is often our mental state that "makes the biggest difference".

We all have times when our heads "just are not in the right place" but do we understand the full impact it has on how we ride and how close we get to our aims? We all know how frustrating it can be when you come home from a competition and you just know you could have done better. Battling with nerves and those doubts in our heads can have a huge effect on our ability to perform under pressure in a competition environment or even just being able to kick ourselves up the backside and get out there in the first place.

Sports Psychology techniques can give riders effective tools to manage those nerves and self-doubts. Learning to train your mind to manage your emotions, hone your focus, overcome distractions, ignore mistakes and manage your own nerves raises your riding confidence and lets you get on with the job of riding, and most importantly, ENJOYING yourselves.

The introduction to Sports Psychology session is free to attend, and is an opportunity to learn something new and to meet friends new and old.
