It has gone swimmingly, we are now down to a small amount of hard feed and lots of simple sytems food (grass pellet, unmolassed sugarbeet and luciebix)

For 2 years now, ever winter i have struggled with feeding, changed feeds 100 times, don't like mixes, don't like cubes, don't like alfa, don't like sugarbeet, doesn't like barley rings, as well as being a totally hyper TB horse!

I should have changed to simple systems, ok its a pain to start with working it out, but i now have a horse that eats and enjoys it, she actaully demands her feed in the morning instead of looking at me as if to say 'i have to eat that!'.

For all you who don't know its a completly natural diet consisting on no molasses, its all fibre, grass pellets, unmolassed sugarbeet, unmolassed alfa. To all those ponies and sugar addicted horses it takes some time to get used to, but for the fussy ones (mine, i hadn't realised shouldn't like molasses) it's a blessing

i was relucant to start it off as i had to put in a min order of £60, although i now realise i will save money and food!

hope it continues!

Saffy loves the Simple Systems stuff (so do I, she's MUCH better on it!) though she did take a short while to wean off the molasses!

Have you seen any differences in her yet?

i would say riding wise she has that slightly more level headnish on her as she is not being fueled by high sugar and excess energy.

Weight wise she hasn't put any weight on, but i am kinda not expecting it at this time of year, although i am not concerned as she is not thin but is lean and fit looking (this is very much her way, being a tb, and generally running around in field or riding) Sometimes in the mornings she used to look tucked in even though she has ad -lib hay this is definatly better since being on this feed.

Hooray! Another convert. For what it's worth, P has been getting a really nice topline since she's been on Lucienuts so yes, it does what it says on the tin! Hope it carries on going well for you both.
