Hello!
My sister and I are looking for nice, but cheap Western Riding boots..as we are going to take lessons soon :]
Do you know any stores [in Tx] or websites that may be helpful?
Thanks!

Don't really know where to send you as I am in Canada, but a good pair of paddock boots are probably the best way to go. I like Ariat's myself - I use the Endurance ones that look and feel like sneakers. ROpers are less expensive, and I know people who swear by them
Good luck!

I started out in Ropers! :D But now I just ride in my Ariats no matter if I ride English or Western. The paddock version of course. The tall fieldboots are still reserved for English only... :p
Try www.valleyvet.com. Good prices. Free shipping. It's not in Texas but that way you won't have to pay taxes...

LOL. That's too funny. We live only a few miles from there... and we never go there. Partly because we consider it slighlty overpriced and the sales people work on commission so constantly hover around you! But they are also the only store that doesn't do cash exchanges; they only give you store credit. So I don't buy anything there where the fit is iffy (girths, etc.) It is a huge place though. You can buy yourself some boots, and a horse trailer, and a saddle, and a bbq grill, and dinner plates to go with it.

Boot barn sometime have good deals - http://www.bootbarn.com/?source=CJ
Rods also have good deals sometimes - http://www.rods.com/
Its really a bit of shopping round to get the best deal, I have a couple of pairs of favorite boots, one are lacers and the other ropers. I love my Double H Packers (lacers) as they are tough, comfey and keep my feet warm/cool depending on the season, but they ain't exactly cheap- http://www.bootbarn.com/itemview/men/bootsshoes/westernboots/packers/3898/popular/All/All/All
