Jasmine has been on the Magic suppliment for a while now and it seems to help her. Have done some research and some people feed Calmag instead. How much should she have? As it is made for cows it doesnt come with instructions like horsey packaged stuff does!

I looked in to this recently, still can't find anywhere to buy it in the north east!
For an average horse suplement 5-10g of magnesium per day. This means feeding 20-40 g of calcinated magnesium (calmag) if the strength of it is 26% magnesium, which most calcined magnesium sold for cattle is.

The Magic suppliment says it is 60% magnesium and you feed 50g a day.
Calmag says it is 50% minimum magnesium so I guess if I feed 60g that should cover it. Im assuming you cant overdose them on it at such low levels?
Alfies Slave, I got mine from Mole Valley Farmers. They have lots of stores so there may be one near you. They have a web site with all their locations on.
I got a 25Kg sack today and it cost me £6.15 including VAT.

I've been looking into feeding magnesium for a while - will try to track down some Calmag. My local feed store has Magnesium sulphate though - is this just magnesium, or something else altogether:confused: ?

The stuff in the horse suppliments is called Calcined Magnesate. Not sure of exact spelling as dont have the pot here! So that is what I have bought. Dont know if there is a difference so stuck with the same just in case.

Calmag is based on magnesium oxide, whereas magnesium sulphate is the same as Epsom salts and while still a source of magnesium, it will have a purgative effect (laxative).
