Random question i know, but it's something i always wondered-at my old yard there was a horse that wore them and i never actually asked what it did. Is it just like an over-reach boot?

It does actually resemble a sausauge in shape, you put it round one ankle to discourage them from knocking themselves like an anti-brushing ring :)

Ah so they only wear one then? The horse at my old yard used to have one on a hind leg i just thought it'd lost one lol!
Thanks for that :D

It's fitted to the back legs to stop brushing occuring nearer the coronet (not within the protection of brushing boots). :)
