NEW - Self-updating screensaver now available [Archive]

The NEW - self-updating screensaver featuring all your latest submitted photosaver is now available for download on this page

Screen Saver page (http://www.newrider.com/Other_Bits/Screen_Fun/screen_saver.html)

If you submitted a photograph you might find your picture is used on the screen saver.
Don't forget this isn't a static screensaver - the pictures change daily and so send some in and they should appear on the screensaver at some point.

Have a look and let us know what you think.

Hi

I have just downloaded the new screensaver and it looks great. It's nice to have something a little more personal as a screensaver instead of a normal, boring one. It's also great to see that we can be part of it by sending in our pictures, i just love it.

No pics of my horses though :( I did submit some, perhaps not to the address listed though - is that where they have to go? Cant have a NR screensaver without Hector :p

My name is Nicola and I have been working on the screensaver. If your image is not displaying do not worry as the images change daily. However, if you still do not see your images being displayed after a week please re-send them to newrider@oxigen.net

New Rider users submit the images; therefore you will find a range of different horses in different ways. It is an opportunity for you to share your favourite images of you and your horse.

I'm glad you all seem to be enjoying the new screensaver. As you will notice we have loaded some new images and hope to upload more shortly. We need more images from you all so if you have some then feel free to send them to us. Let all your friends know because the more images we receive, the more we can update the screensaver.

I love receiving your images, i think they look great.

I just downloaded it yesterday. I think it's great (although my husband's not too impressed :rolleyes: ).

It's great when you see someone you know. So far I've recognised solo, dina and curly

Hi,

For Goldies Girl's question on removing the screensaver - yes it is easily removed so if you decide you do not want it anymore you can take it off.

If you have not checked it out already you definately should, it looks great.

And if you have any pics you would like included then please send them to

newrider@oxigen.net

It is so great to see you all enjoy the screensaver, I love receiving all your images and i am even thinking of taking up horse riding again. I had a fall when i was a kid and never got back on, but think i may give it another go.

Thanks Nicola, just downloaded the screesaver, it looks great. Only thing that bothers me slightly is the fact that I think the background red is a bit too strong a colour.. But that is just me! ;)

I can't get the screensaver on my computer.:(
I have a mac and it says it only works on PC's. Do you know how I could alter it so it will work on mine?
Everyone's been raving about it and I want to see it too!:D

Hi,
It is unfortunate that the screensaver is not available for Mac's at present, and there is no way to alter it to get it onto your Mac I'm afraid. We are looking at plans to become compatible with Mac's and it is in the development pipeline. Sorry you are missing out.

Hi,

Just to let you all know that i will be uploading some more images on Friday, if you have any you want me to use then please send them to me ASAP so i can add them to the list.

I haven't yet got back into horse riding and love seeing all of your pictures, it makes me want to start again but i just haven't found the time (poor excuse) plus i live in the city now. I used to live in Devon, miss the small country roads and watching the horses in the field opposite my house. Send me all of your pictures as i would love to update the screensaver more often.

Nicola? I've sent you some pics of some of the horses on our yard but for some reason...they don't seem to have reached you. I sent them about three to four weeks ago:confused: They haven't shown up on the S.S. so far.

I think this is really good idea and had the screensaver for about two weeks. However i dont know if it was my laptop or not but it took about 15 MINS longer to login to Windows with the screensaver active :(. I guess because it wants to update from the Internet. So sadly i have taken it off now and the laptop is back to normal. If you ever do another one with perhaps static pics then i would be interested :D
