He is extremely well-bred;)
His dam line is absolutely top class Crabbet with one line through to Dargee, technically classed as Old English but quite often given honorary Crabbet status.
The Silver Fire line are known for their beauty and performance ability, Silver Fire was about as good as an Arab mare gets and she founded a dynasty in her own right, she was foaled in 1926 and is a Hamdani Simrieh. Silver Fire goes back to a mare called Sobha, a grey mare foaled in 1879 and bred by Mahmud Bey, although Sobha's dam Selma was an Abbas Pasha mare. Sobha was bought by the Blunts of Crabbet Park in 1891 - she was sold to Russia in 1899.
An absolutely top class pedigree - need a photo please:D

Potted history of Crabbet for you:

Edited to add he has thrown more to his Sire's side of the pedigree but he should grow up to be a nice sort. Are you keeping him entire?

yes he will be kept entier, he has two breedings in his sale contract so his breeder can keep hold of his lines. but he will also be open to public stud, and if his temperment is anything to go by the mares should be queing up, he is bold but very mellow, been in his new home a week and has coped with rugs , hosepipes, tractors, cows e.c.t with no hassle.
when you say he is more to the sier's side what do you mean, can you think of any stallions that you think he will grow up to look like?

His tail female is the bottom line of the pedigree which is the line through to Silver Fire and Sobha and from where he gets his strain name of Hamdani Simri, the Hamdani strain is famed for its beautiful arch of neck and length of rein.
If you do a google search and look for photos of Silver Fire, Silver Vanity, Hanif, Silver Grey you will get an idea of the Silver Fire influence and type.
Your colt's side of the pedigree is Pure Crabbet - but I can see the Ludo influence coming through - google him to see if there is a photo, if not there should be some photos on Allbreed, click on reports and scroll down to photos and click and you should see a fair few of his Crabber ancestors.

thanks, and thanks Ambatt, and funny you should say that about the neck, because though he looks very 'flat' in all the pics i have of him, in the flesh his neck and shoulder are his best points!
so is he 100% crabbet?

Not quite 100% Crabbet as he has Dargee who is Old English - there is always debate about whether he should be counted as Crabbet as he was owned and used by Lady Wentworth as an outcross to the original Crabbet stock who had become quite closely bred. Technically, if purists wanted to use that argument, then anything containing Scowronek should also be discounted as he was bred in Poland and came to Crabbet as a mature horse.
So you could say 'Crabbet with Dargee' You could get his Crabbet percentage done, he would, I guess, be something like 97%.
If people are willing to accept Dargee as Crabbet then he is 100% - sorry to be a bit vague but Arab pedigrees and purists can be pedantic in the extreme!:o
This Link here uses Dargee blood and class their horses as 100% Crabbet -they loaned mares to the Crowles at ZS stud.

Dancing Dawn chestnut foaled 1977? If so she has slightly more old English as she has Dargee x 3 on her Sire's side, plus Algol on her dam's and the line of Polish through Argos. Then she has that really interesting tail female through to Mahawiliyah...

if you know the name of your pony's mum you can add her, i think you can even if you don't know the dam

The tail female is the very bottom line of the pedigree, so her dam's dam's dam as far back as you can take it, which for Dawn is to Mahawiliyah who is just recorded as 'Kehaileh'.
