I can't for the life of me remember if this has been brought up before. But I live by books, I adore them.
Perhaps we could have a feature that has well written reviews of books and DVD's etc.
Especially relating to the New Rider or to the disciplines that people are wanting to get into etc.
Perhaps?

I would really appreciate a review section too - I'd get a lot of use out of it! At the moment I have to Google for reviews of books and DVDs that I want to buy which takes a while. Amazon sometimes helps out, but it would be very convenient to have a section here.

So another "yes" vote from me :)

Yes! I'd like to second Cochise's suggestion and would like to see a book recommendation/review/discussion thread! :-)

I have a over 100 of horse related books in my personal library at home
(plus a few DVD movies here and there) and look forward to sharing and
reading what other horselovers have in their collection!

I also think this would be a great feature on NR.

appaIloosa, I like your model horse website! I have a nice collection of Breyer horses from when I was a kid and including all the ones my kids had - all up in my attic in boxes!

Laura, thank you for the compliment.

There is a model horse web site exclusively for UK showers and collectors:

Enjoy!

hehehe the suggestion is burried in that HUGE new features post.

I also felt a Tack review section would be helpful..maybe not a msg board, but an actual review set up, where you could rate the item and add comments :)

Whoops, I'm a bad mod! Should have looked through that big thread. :o
But I do think that features such as tack reviews and book reviews should be like a reference thing, not just threads where people add their replies and then it's buried in say the General area of the board. Even if people submit their reviews to a webmaster or someone nominated to be in charge of publishing the reviews, editing them for grammar and punctuation etc and then putting them somewhere for easy reference? Maybe too much work...
