it really depends on the job, the more hands on jobs eg grooms yard staff and managers etc tend not to be as well paid as horsey office type jobs or retail. physios/chiropractors etc and dentists tend to be quite well paid too as you can set your own pricing pretty much

Im afraid to say it but being a student usually = not much money. The money comes after the degree. I hadnt been on holiday for years, until i met my OH who paid for us to spend a weekend in Prague. Thats been my only holiday since i started uni.
If you want holidays and to own a horse you'l need to work damn hard. Having a job and doing study can work, i had a job during 1st and 2nd year, but your study must come first. I decided not to have a job in 3rd year as it is a big year and i was willing to sacrifice extras to get good marks (its working so far)
One of the jobs i had was at a riding school/livery. I never asked but working in a livery may get you a discount.
My only advice is to say - expect to make some sacrifices. Itl be worth it when you have your degree and a good job to but all the horses and holidays you want :D
