I have a horse show sunday and it's been very cold for my area. It was about 40day... i'm worryed that at the horse show he might be to cold. The show starts at 8:00am but i probley wont ride till 9:00am. Should i keep his blaket on till the warm up ring opens? should i wait till a sertain temp? it's mean to get 54 outside. Should i put a blanket on him after each class to keep him warm? or am i just over reacting? i'm just worried about getting him sick from getting sweaty (if he does) and then being out in the cold. Thank you all so so much.

hey no you arent over reacting and I myself would do exactly what you have just suggested yourself! Make sue he is kept rugged untill and after you ride. Put a sweat sheet over him and if its really cold put his normal rug on top of that! Its always better to be safe than sorry!

Good luck at the comp!:D

take rugs and hay. i would keep the blanket on until you start to warm up, if you've got an exercise sheet that you can take off while still on board i would use that to warm up but its not a necessity. between classes put the rug on. if he's sweaty lay some hay along his back and then put the rug on as this will keep the air circulatin gut will keep him warm.
good luck, you're not overreacting, just doing what is best :)

the wind wasn't very warm and it was blowing quite hard and we had an hour between classes.

Take all precautions with you and just follow your instincts as to how he is when you're there :)
