Ok, so my trainer decided to test my ability to not freak out when a nurotic horse is being mental one day put on Hope, meanwhile, I was just hoping I wasn't going to die! Actually, everything went great, and it has scince then.
Hope is a 15 18 year old black very light boned thoroughbred mare. Even though she's 18, she acts like, 8. She very picky about who she likes and loves bucking and basicly anything she can do to screw with you! So, because I'm sooooo little (i'm only 4'6":p ) she likes me riding her because of thats I use my seat, not my legs.
But now the show season is coming up for us and my trainer wants me to do her in flat classes and dressage. We've been having problems though, but when don't we, because she's still green, and needs some memory refreshing. Another thing is, the more fit she gets, the more she wants to buck and challenge you.:)
So here are the things that we need to work on:
1) Stoping (center line) and Standing
2)Downward transitions from the trot sometimes
3) Downward transition from the canter
4) Spooking or just messing around
So I was wondering if you guys had any ideas and exercised that I could try with her when I ride:confused: (my trainer wants me to ride her 3-4 times a week). Thanks!!
