Has anyone here ever taken their horse over trot poles, caveletti or small jumps long reining? I've done trot poles, but wondered if Skeeterling might enjoy popping over a caveletti. I have no desire to jump him riding, but thought he might find some caveletti fun. Want to keep him doing new things.

I have a book with pics/tips about doing this sort of thing, but wondered if anyone has done this and has any advice? You'd have to be careful with the long lines to ensure they don't get caught on the caveletti but you could probably be careful and pay attention to the setup of the caveletti.

I would think it wouldn't be that different from lunging over cavaletti. Impossible for us, as our jump wings are quite high and the line gets caught on them, but as long as you had small wings, it should be all right. Control would be an issue as some horses get hot when jumping, but you've done enough long-reining work with Skeeter that I wouldn't think that would be a concern for you two. :)
