does any one use hand operated horse clippers and what are they like to use?
how do you sharpen them etc? thanks

I've never had any, but I might get some if Storm ever needed clipping as using an electric clipper just would not be an option! I think I might have seen them in the Rideaway catalogue but I couldn't be sure.

Yep I used them to clip out my hairy 16.2 until he had some therapy & realised clippers were not evil monsters from hell. They are easy to use for small areas, but if you do a big clip your arm will get so tired you may feel like your hand is about to fall off!! They take ages, the blade can go wonky & that makes them behave like they are blunt & the clip usually looks pretty raggedy. I loved mine though, not surpirising because the alternative was a horse too sweaty to work or getting the vet to sedate him!
