You should really consider not riding him at all until you find out what the problem is. I don't believe that horses can fake lameness to the degree it sounds like your horse shows. I'd get another vet out and keep him/her looking until you find something, there must be a reason for him being lame.

I can understand your problem-I have something similar with my horse-I would suggest you have your horse nerve blocked and xrayed to find out what is wrong with him once and for all, that what I had to do and at least it gives you something to treat.I do think, however ,that horses CAN fake lameness,my horse limps sometimes when he sees his tack but if you ride him he is sound!!But as your horse is still lame when you ride him I would suggest you do get the vet to do tests on him.

Only a suggestion. Have you had the horses back checked as I believe sometimes lameness can be a connection.

have another...or even two other vets come out and look...have his teeth/back/legs/ everything checked...i have had a horse "fake" lammnes once...but not to bad...and it was kinda obvious to and it only lasted 5 minutes..........but this sounds like its A LOT more...i would also not ride until you find out what is going on...does he limp when just outside walking around? playing?
