i wondered if anyone could help me out with which they would recommend out of the two for use for bhs stages

ie. is one much better than the other

i know the bhs ones are the official ones but have heard that the maxine cave ones are very user friendly

anyones experience much appreciated

I found the Maxine Cave books better than the BHS Manuals as they have diagrams & explain in more detail. The BHS ones where like bullet points & only gave you hints.

The videos are also very good :)

Good Luck

I'd recommend the Maxine Cave books more than the official BHS ones, but do use them alongside the syllabus (check that everything on it is covered).

The Maxine Cave Course companions are good, and the Student Workbooks are excellent!!

They list all the usual questions and leave space to write the answers and test yourself. (Answers in the back!) Superb for revision or quick study.

In my opinion the best books of all are the series by Hazel Reed. They are really detailed and explain everything so well. But if it had to be a choice between Maxine Cave and the BHS Islay Auty books I'd say Maxine Cave.
