why do i find it easier to get my horse in an outline when i'm riding him up a hill?
it puzzles me :confused:
any insights?:)

It's probably because he is having to use his back end more than usual. Horses can only really come into a true outline when they use their quarters properly which he will have to do when walking up hill.

yep - the push from behind asks him to step under more, which lightens the forehand.
