Why Does My Horse Gallop Down The Field When I Call Him
Swinging His Head ... Is He Excited To See Me?
I'm Trying To Pick Up On The Facial Expressions And The Physical Movements As To What They All Mean. I'm Just Trying To Read What He Is Trying To Tell Me.

Is he going TO you, or AWAY from you? To you is good, away from you is bad. ;)
If you're trying to understand your horse, don't focus a lot on "facial expressions", as their faces are much less mobile and expressive than ours. Look at his ears (pricked forwards signifies attention/excitement/fear, to the side means sleepy, and pinned back shows anger), his tail (up in the air means excited, swishing or wringing may mean irritation or frustration), and his body posture (this is too complicated to get into!).

HI again
he only swings his head when i call him , and thats when he gallops through 2 fields till he gets to the gate where i am,,he does it when i take his bucket with food in.....or when i take treats...and also when i take nothing.
his ears are pricked up and his tail does not swish.i am thinking of having him gelded soon as he is a big lad now.... and want to train him without the racing hormones....am i doing that right thing?

Pepper and Abbie gallop up the field and swing their heads when they hear my car pull up.
I like to think that they are doing it because they are excited to see me and not because they know its tea time!

He sounds a loyal chap you have there! x
My horse Kai comes over when he sees my car ( DINNER!) pulling up, as I always toot my horn to him to !!
Sometimes when I am simply driving past I slow down and toot my horn..he watches me until I go right out of distance just INCASE I am stopping to feed him!! hehe
