hah, mine does it all on his own!
jumping, turiing, refusing, backing up madly, jumping it, twisting round, changing the rein and galloping over it again just the way he likes . . . i just stand in the middle trying to look and act in as if in control!

i like to do a lot of groundwork, loose schooling (on the flat, over poles and jumps), join up, long-reining, lunging, the basics and more in-hand . . . the most valuable exercises i have ever done.

simply stand in the centre of the enclosure and use your lunge whip to help guide him . . . it's good to let him let off some steam first, allow him to hjave a god nuck or two. just stand there and accept his actions until he is ready for some work, and then take up control of the situation. bear in mind it is after all called free schooling - so give him the feedom of choice, and aim to work togather rather than aways trying to gain the upper hand, dominance 'control', etc.

good luck and have fu playing together - it's so valuable and gives an amazing feeling when it goes well!
