My lovely loan pony is a 13.3hh grey registered Connemara, she's done loads of showing with previous owners but this will be my first season with her. I am just wondering whether to stick with her usual black wintec girth or use a white one to match her?

We will be mainly doing ridden M & M and workers, plus best combination etc.

Thanks!

i prefer leather ones. white is fine, but i find it either gets grubby in about half a circuit of the ring, or if it's clean it maks the pony look grubby. would rather white than dark synthetic though.

Thanks, I think i'll try and find a brown leather one on ebay in that case!

You can use one to match the pony or to match the tack, it's up to you. Some people stick to ones the same colour of the horse so they don't look 'cut in half' by the girth, but with a grey it's easy to make them look dirty if your girth is too white!

Derby House do some lovely leather padded girths, with elastic on both sides for about £30. :D
