Today was my second riding lesson! It was sooo good.

Although a few mishaps:

- Maple (my horse) was walking round the arena following Sally and this horse on the other side of the fence had his nose stuck over. Maple stopped to see him cause they are like best friends 'parently. Anyway I was kicking her tryna make her move and SHE REARED UP! Only a little but it really shocked me, but managed to keep control and stay on.

- The lady on Sally went into trot and Maple copied, now I haven't trotted for like 8 years so it was a complete shock and I was being shaken about everywhere lol, so funny. Got her to stop though!

Later I mastered rising trot though (again!) so vvvvery

Love hearing how everyones lessons are going. I was the same on my first couple of lessons. Had been on horses before years ago but that first trotting is so bouncy! After my 5th lesson I ended up changing horses from one that was about 16 hands to 14.2. My god the the smaller one was so much more bouncy! Probably didn't help that my first ride on her was with no stirrups!

How much riding have you done before these lessons? The biggest frustration I had when I started was I thought after 3-4 lessons I would be fantastic as I had been on horses before - no such luck! My previous experience entails a pony at age 10 for about a year, no riding instruction just me trying to kick the hell out of it to actually get it going! I think I managed to canter twice back then. When I was 19 I took about 3 or 4 lessons but never really kept it up as got busy with study. Since then have been on two horse treks. So now at 33 I am starting a fresh and am totally addicted!

Well done staying on in the rear - must have been abit scarey!
Glad you mastered your rising trot, you'll find it easy peasy soon :D
