Jasmine has never been to a show. I plan to take her this summer to watch. If she stays calm enough I hope to enter a couple of classes. Either in hand or ridden. She is rising 5, 15.2, cobxTB.

What classes can she do? And what equipment will I need? I have never done showing before and have no idea. I can look it all up with regards to clothing and tack but I dont know what to show her as.

Im only just breaking her in so probably nothing with jumping involved this year.

P.S Ignore her sticking up hair! It was windy. I am gradually shortening it so it should be plaitable by the summer.

ridden horse would be a good class to enter. its not too challenging and isn't for a specific breed. It would be a general show of walk trot and canter. You would require her to be plaited with simple tack. novelty classes in the local shows are generally very good for beginer ponies and handlers. good luck

Ridden Horse, maybe Working Hunter if she can pop a few jumps. Equitation?

Lots of shows have more obscure classes. One I attended in the summer had 'New Combination' so if you havent had her long you could try that. Also there were 'Novice Showing' classes for people who had never been before, and classes grouped by age which were useful for the more mature riders (the super serious show people didnt waste their time entering things like 'Rider aged 45 - 55' unless they were just out to collect some trophies  ). Id get some schedules and see what's on offer.
Maybe try her in some inhand classes too if youd rather do that than ride her? If it's just for show experience then put her in 'best conditioned' or 'pretty mare' or something. Or stick her in a relevant age class ('Equitation - horse under 6yrs' or something like that).
Or enter 'Riding Club Allrounder' or 'Family Horse' where she will be expected to be calm and balanced and generally well behaved. She might even make a nice small hunter / intermediate?

There's plenty of things you could try :)

To me she looks more of a hunter type than a riding horse type. At local shows she could do either class nicely though.

Working hunter classes and riding club horse classes would be ideal if she can jump too.
