I have just had news about the bumps on Rohans face it seems that he has a tooth bud that malformed. The root died and rotted giving him an infection in the bone. The bumps are caused by the infection going up through the sinus cavity. Now he is going to have a very serious operation to remove the bud from the bone. I am heart broken as the infection may not be reversable and any operation is a risk. He is only 6 1/2 and we have had him for 3 almost 4 years, he is part of this family he's my baby boy.

any operation is a risk.

I know its hard, but try not to worry too much.

They have to tell you that its a risk, just in case. They always do.

I've never heard of an infection not being reversible. Can't any infection be cleared up with anti biotics:confused:

Hope he's ok. Let us know how you get on:)

It is the type of bacterial infection that may very well be resistant to antibotics as he has had several high doses and courses with no effect but there are two more targeted ones that we have yet to try but as the infection is in the bone it may have spred that is thriugh the marrow.

Poor boy, how awful for you both.

Infection in the bone can be hard to treat because it's hard to get the antbiotics to reach it.

But as he's young & healthy, if it hasn't gone too far, he may well win the battle himself (his immune system over time, when the trigger is removed).

Thinking of him thro' the op - do update later in the week.

He's young and fit so I'd imagine the surgery would be less of a risk for him. Try and not worry yourself too much, though I know that's easy to say but hard to do. I'll be sending good vibes and please keep us updated.
