Just entered a young horse class, 80cm and won it. I was the only clear round so didnt have to do the jump off, which is a shame really cos I could have done with the practice but hey! Cornering left alot to be desired but that will come now.

Really really thrilled. I won £15 and some flowers and my first ever red rosette:D

There was a photographer there so once they're up I'll post them.

Lovely piccies!

Brack looks different - viewing gallery & new surface?

yes gallery is new, the surface was originally outside but they then realised it was actually an indoor surface so had to have it moved!

your horse is lovely!!

just wondering .. how old is he? cos i have a youngster and have never heard of young horse classes .. are they common?

Ahh your horse is sweet! I just won a competision the other week. It was only a local show, but there were loads of people in the class. I only got a red rossette and a medal though, it would have been good to have £15!!! My pony is 7, how young does the horse have to be to enter a young horse class? Also is there young horse XC classes? Because my pony hasn't done much XC and she is very green in XC...
Thanks Kate xx

there was no age restrictions on the class it was just a reseason eventing warm up so the first class was aimed at the more green horse.

Just looks like the horses jumped a bit funny & the riders were caught off balance - it happens I'm afraid.

They don't look too bad to me - maybe the riders could have slipped their reins but sometimes riders can be caught off guard!

I would have been off before the hind came up :p .. Not that they look bad, it looks painful . But I dont jump that often, so I wouldnt know, honestly.

DITZ

I know the lady in the first pic, her horse goes like a missile so shes working hard at slowing him down. End result is lack of some impulsion resulting in and awkward jump. Not ideal but sometimes you got to go back to go forwards if you know what I mean. Once hes listening she will send him forwards and he then jumps lovely. Not pretty but effective.
