I am new to the forum and just starting up riding again.. I wondered what constitutes being a "mature rider" Im 29, does that count?

Hey I'm 27 too... but just like this board the best.
I sometimes find the teenagers on the other boards a bit much :o although a lot of them are lovely.

haha, seems I am mature then! Joy...
Im just getting back into riding after about a 10 year break.. went on a hack last weekend down in London with a friend in Richmond Park which was fab, even if Picasso my horse was a tad fiesty! I loved it but didnt feel that I was really in control of the horse so I am having my first lesson tonight! im really excited, if not a little nervous! I love riding but am a bit scared of falling off having just read another post in the General forum!
Are you all mega experienced riders? Maybe I could get some good tips from you all!

Definitely not... I took a 7 year break myself. And am on another one right now.. due to stupidly deciding to try and do a PhD

Hello BornAgainRider, and welcome!
I 'returned' to riding a couple of years ago now, and can safely say it only gets more addicitve...:)
I tend to be a 'lurker' here, as I don't have my own horse, but I wanted to reply to your post, as I rode Picasso when I hacked in Richmond Park about a year ago. He was very sweet, but I know what you mean about feisty; as soon as we decided to canter he thought a gallop would be more appropriate and started racing the other horse we were with...that was my first gallop! Fortunately I stayed on :)
Enjoy your lessons!

Hi, I have come back to riding after a break too :D but am a little more mature than you ;) ,
I used to spend quite a bit of time in Didsbury many many years ago, Queens Road to be exact :D was in Offerton for a while before that.
welcome to the board, it is very addictive :)
