I've posted this in the "general" section, but i was looking for some second opinions!

my two quarterhorses, rocket & sierra, are simply inseperable! rocket's a gelding and sierra the mare. Rocky is 11 and is a gentle ride. Sierra had been previously used as a brood mare, and was ridden straight into the ground in barrel racing. she had a nasty attitude and wasn't very cared for.
with some training she's coming nicely as a western pleasure horse. rocky's taken to her. we split our pasture into two with a boarded fence. they're both attached to our barn. both of them canter up and down the fence, almost playing.
When my neighbors kids come out and take rides on rocket, i usually ride sierra along side them. the eldest of the kids, 14, is a capable rider, so i allowed her to take gentle rocky out in the fields by herself.
well, sierra didn't like this very much so she decided to spaz out squealing and whinning running along the fence. Rocky pranced and tried to turn around to get back to sierra and the barn. i saw him buck after being pulled around by the girl. she was fine and i schooled rocky for a while. her confidence was shaken and i was isapointed. rocket knows better.
even at shows, i'll take sierra to halter classes while rocket squeals & kicks in the trailer before his class.
i hate making two trips, taking sie then coming back for rock.

any suggestions? rock's fine if i trailer him to the state park and ride him by myself, but not when i want to school around the barn!

Separating their fields is a good start what you could try to do is take one out of the field but only for a short period of time say ten minutes before retuning them to their field gradually increasing the time the pair are apart it also might help if possible if at first while you take one of the horses out another person stays with the other horse to reassure them.
it will take time but with alot of patience this might work my friend tried it with a pair of her horses and now they are fine to be separated even overnight if she goes away to a competition.
hope i helped!
