This is us in the final judging after jumping, conformation and individual show.
We came 4th as only 3 above me got clear rounds and managed to do an individual show.

yes you can show a cob in working hunter classes. theres usually a class for cobs and at most of the bigger shows over here theyre in against small hunters under 158cms.
have a go and see what you think.

Depends on the show, as some state they should be plaited. You can in most, but I wouldn't expect to be placed above a proper hunter type if it's the same standard as your cob, although this largely depends on the judge.
Turnout wise it would depend on the individual horse. If it's a proper show cob type, then hogged and trimmed. If it's a hairy, then au natural, and if it suits neither state, then it needs plaiting. Bear in mind that going in with mane and feathers flying wont look quite as neat as a plaited or hogged horse, but if it's local level, it doesn't matter so much.

I used to take my old h/w cob in local wh classes, he was fully feathered & had a full-on hippy mane! He usually got a ribbon & won a class once because he'd been the only horse to go round the jumps without a stop. We also did a working cob class at a big show & came 4th. If your cob jumps well you might surprise yourself how well you do!

I've taken my M/W Irish Cob in WH at county level, and much to my surprise, she wasn't the only cob entered!
