Is Cosequin the same as Cortaflex?

*Slightly* OT here as it's actually been prescribed for my cat -- but I can see there is an equine version too, so not entirely irrelevant. It is marvellous stuff -- she's acting 5 years younger. I'd forgotten what a dynamo she used to be.

So -- is it just a different brand name for Cortaflex, or is it different?

It's blimmin expensive, but worth every penny if it keeps her this fit.

There's loads of info if you google it, including;

The manufacturers page looked cute but a bit waffly.

It seems to be similar, eg glucosamine & chondroitin, but I guess they have to use different "other" ingredients to suit a cat's gut. Hence I don't think you can just feed the horse one to the cat, even in adjusted dosages.

The reason I put my old pony on it, was the good scientific reviews for the human version too!
