Well it seems the time for lots of 1 year anniversaries, so here is mine.....
We bought my daughter her pony last Christmas and after castration disasters, moving Yards and the ever changing RI s we have survived a year:D
There have been ups downs and plenty of tears, not to mention mouthfuls of dirt  But we still think he is a fab little boy .... here is a before and after,
The first time she rode him

Oh great pics CR!

What a lovely boy he is turning into and isn't your daughter sooo pretty.

She has a great position already and looks very at home on his back.

Happy anniversary to you all - isn't it amazing what a year can bring to us all.

:D

Spring is on its way and he forgot he got the chop a year ago !!!!! we have a few issues to work through at the moment, so she rode her first HORSE yesterday, an OTTB called Creamy, who has grand prix halt:D

Lovely pics CR:D Interesting to hear about your horses. Apologies if you've written all about it elsewhere (please point me to the appropriate thread if so), but I'd love to hear more about how you keep them, where you hack, the differences between there and the UK.

Good to have an update Chinarider - I was on the point of asking for one, just haven't got round to it! Isn't your daughter doing well! And celebrity is gorgeous, even if he's having an off-day!

You are all too sweet :)

Caz, Not sure I know how to link you to past threads, so here is a brief summary.

The pony , Shadow was found and purchased for my daughter about a year ago, he was a stallion at the time but very sweet. However he was also very underfed. He was castrated and had a few dramas but is ok now.He is normally very good, but in the last 2 weeks has been very naughty so lets see if its weather/teeth/back????
Celebrity is from western China on the Afganistan border, probably a Don mix. he was dumped on me by his last owner when she left China !!!! He is really a bit much for me somedays. Nervous spooky young horse / Nervous spooky old woman not a great mix, Oh and he is blind in one eye.....more reason to spook !;) I love him to bits, and oneday I WILL be able to really ride him:)
They are kept in a wonderful Yard run by the government for the Shanghai Showjumping and Eventing Team. Two of the riders are on the China Squad. There are 103 horses , 2 vets and 2 farriers on site. I have then on full livery as it is some distance from home. There isnt any hacking, as the lorries and bikes all sound their horns when they see you, dont slow and yell out at you. So its not very safe. But we amble around the few acres the yard is on. There is no turn out, only sand paddocks, most of the horses are from Hong Kong, ex racers retired to be used in riding school/compitition. There are 5 Holsteiner warmbloods, must post a pic of them one day . HUGE
My 'Boys' are in a great place, and I have some first class help, BUT its a bit like a beginner putting their horse at Nick Skeltons yard. You feel an idiot most of the time :o

Your daughter has a lovely seat now. Obviously not bothered about riding big horses, so good on her! Will be a good little rider I reckon!

Both horses look lovely and get you with your fancy stables!

Sounds like Celebrity has found the right owner.. perseverence will win through despite having a lot to contend with!

Sounds like a great yard CR. Thanks for that.:D Just goes to show that wherever you are, there is a horsey life to be found. I can understand why you don't go on the road. Must be great to watch the top showjumpers in action.:)

Hello! Very nice pictures! It's always interesting to hear about how things are done in other countries!! Does china have a special breed typical of your country?
