Since I can't ride, I have been doing Pen & Ink with watercolor Pencils..
Also can't do peoples faces for the life of me...but here they are.
First is me and Dyfra..my grey squirrel Icelandic.
Second is my heart.. Maggie. Have since added color to this one.

They are lovely SharIN.:D I like the way you've "improved" Dyfra's ear position and eye. They'll be lovely to keep once you do start riding again.

Oh Sharon they are really lovely.

What a lovely way to spend your time - you must spend hours doing that.

The first pic is so colourful, relaxed and casual.

The detail in the second one is great with all the harnesses etc.

Keep sharing and keep busy.

Hugs.

I have to giggle...seems like everyone catches that.:D When she is going good and relaxed...she always has her eyes near closed and her ears are listening to me.
Great when riding but doesn't make a good painting.
Pen&Ink...is really interesting...paintings look a lot like Book illustrations.

Thanks everyone!

Not sure if I am going to ride again....to even think there might be a chance of me getting this hurt this bad again. Honestly do not think
I could go through it. At my age and brittle bones...
I did try to find a good grandma/husband horse...small, stout, wide, steady, level smooth gaited..with real ride miles and older. There were none to be had, when I was looking before. Those ones are rarely for sale.
I am torn...I know how good my body felt riding my Grey squirrel......
And I know how bad I feel now...coming off my Blk mare.
Right now..it will be end of summer before I can even think to ride again....that is if the bones knitt properly.

Until then....will dream of my good days on my grey Squirrel....and paint pictures.

I feel for you I really do, try and keep busy, and those drawings are brilliant.

Ever thought of starting a business... I think you would do really well.

Keep looking for your perfect horse, you never know he might be just around the corner.

I really wish you lived near me because my boy would be just brilliant for you, and I would happily let you ride him if it made you feel better.

Keep us posted with the drawings.

ShariN I missed your story somehow - I've just been delving back through the archives to find out what happened.

I'm very sorry that you were so badly injured - I hope you're improving day by day.

I think your pictures are WONDERFUL! There's such life and calm movement in that first one. Keep doing them - and please keep showing us!

((((hugs)))) from Slovenia - I'm sure you still need them, even though your fall was a couple of months ago now.

Justi :)

Tis a talented lady you are Sharin - those line drawings are lovely - delicate but lots of life to them. Hope you are recovering from your injuries and starting to feel better now.

Thank you everyone!

Yes,, do plan on making note cards with the barrel and flower paintings.
Have to find a good Quality flat bed Scanner first though. Am doing research on that now.
Once I buy a scanner...can start making note cards.
Might even do small prints too.

Getting better slowly. Not having quite so many bad days now. Have to go see Doc once a month for the next 6 to 9 months. Should get the results of the Xrays back monday...will know if the bones are knitting or not then.
Will need the walker for awhile more yet...and if I want to go to say..a Flower and Garden show...have to use a wheel chair.

Am glad you all do not mind me sharing my paintings.... keeps me looking forward to things!!

Can you post the one of you riding 'away' ... you were going to put a donkey in the background, I think. That's my favourite one so far. The barrel and the flowers are very good, clearly ... but I love the more personal ones of you and the horse. Especially the one where we appear to be riding along behind you... it's so full of hope and happiness.

Hi ShariN, your pics are gorgeous. Brought be back down to earth, don't know if you've seen my miserable "pity me with the broken back" thread I've just posted....

Good for you girl. Keep us all going....
