On anouther site I sometimes go on they have forums for say to get advice from a vet, or barefoot trimmer, or equine behaviorist ect. as well as all the other general forums. Just wondered if this would be a good idea on here as it is VERY usefull if you need a help and theres an expert there to talk to.

Might be a stupid idea but was just a thought

Hi :)

I don't think that it's a stupid idea at all.

My reservations, however, would be that the experts would be unable to answer specific questions because you just can't make a judgement on an illness, hoof, whatever unless you're there in front of the horse.

This topic has come up on another forum and quite rightly the professionals can only give general answers rather than specific advice. To give 'wrong' advice would leave them open to litigation and, possibly, the board owner too.

Another thing to consider is who would pay for the experts to give advice? Lots of people give their advice on here willingly and for free but to set something up officially would mean that we would have to pay.

Unfortunately in these days of litigation I doubt that it could work :(
