I'd really love to work with horses but have no idea which way to go?
I'm applying this week to do a BTEC HND in Equine and one of the questions i've been asked is to give a brief explanation of what career i'd like to do?
I'm also applying to study as an Accounting Technician. I was going to put that as a career but now i'm worried if i put that they won't ask me for an interview or say "whats the point in doing an equine course if you want to do accounting"
Can anybody help me...please!?!?!

maybe you could say that you want to work in the accounts department of a horse company such as Weatherbeeta, Shires, Matchmakers etc?

Well I have done it the other way, being an accountant (FCA) earned me enough to then set up and run my equine business!!

Yes I would question why on interveiwing you but I imagine the college is trying to assess how much you want a horse career as opposed to wanting a few years at college with horses! In your position I would emphisis my interest in equine but also say that at the same time you want to study management or finance to widen your career prospects.

Many horsey collages (sorry thats not very pc is it?) do combined equine and business courses to set you up with the skills to be able to set up your own business etc so you could just say that you have put together individualised programme for yourself!
