Breastplates which do you use and why?

Anyone got any preferences about the straight accross ones or the Y rigged type?
I have a barrel shaped horse who jumps big and his saddle is disappearing towards his tail!

I have the opposite problem my horse is very skinny but this is her brestplate on her
