Just thought I'd let you know that Breeches sold Rosie a couple of weeks ago and she was collected today :( Some of you are aware just how close I was to her and how affected I have been by this (thanks for your support girls).
I invited myself along to go with Breeches when he went to try her out last May... we arrived to find this gorgeous creature waiting for us...

I pretended to be knowledgeable, feeling all her legs and nodding with an intellectual frown... but in actual fact, I was only going round each one saying "One, two,....OMG, she's so PRETTY!!!" that's about as far as my knowledge goes! :o Breeches rode her up the quiet lane to the main road, where she looked bored and then back whereupon we both rode her round a field of cows at a walk, trot and canter..... some months later it transpired that Rosie had been bought straight OTT the previous September, turned away and never ridden - apart from one previous tryer a couple of days before US, whereupon she had bronc'd - resulting in no sale, not surprisingly  Had I known that at the time I may NOT have climbed aboard  .
I suffered a little green-horse envy (she was green, I was green with envy) when she arrived at our yard THE VERY NEXT DAY (he doesn't muck about when he makes his mind up!) and Breeches soon her her settled and hacking out alone and happily. She muscled up a little over the summer and then a change in Breeches' personal circumstances occurred and he started struggling..... I stepped in as helper and sharer then the fields got waterlogged and Rosie had to be in 24/7 bar a "turn" in the horsewalker. She became fizzy to ride (not surprisingly) so I backed off riding her because I didn't want to knock my confidence and it was approaching Christmas and I didn't want to spend it in hospital!! Despite being barn-sour and probably stir-crazy, Rosie STILL remained the most gentle, sweet-natured docile girlie on the ground and in her stable... :)
Breeches had her shoes removed and she was moved to my new yard where she was out a lot more and she returned to her chilled mellow self. But I couldn't help enough and she was advertised for sale. I even muscled in on the selling of her and immediately took to the lady who arrived and smothered her with kisses. I rode her up the lane to "demo" her for them and chatted and they were hooked.
So.... if you are still reading this.... thereby goes a mare who is one of the handful of horses in my life that have touched my heart. I have had a couple of good sobs, but I know it's for the best...
Bye bye sweetheart...
Lots of love from Auntie Jane xxxx
