Hiya,
Does anyone know of a 6th form/collage where you can take your horse and preferably take both A-levels and BHS exams?
I have found some great places such as Queen Ethelburgas but I really don't know how anyone can afford to go there! We looked into scholarships and you still have to pay loooooads of money plus it would probably be impossible to get into!! :(
So does anyone know if such a place exits where us non millionaires can go? :p
thanks :D

I looked at Queen Ethelburga's in 2005 and agreed it was very expensive although very nice
I found this one although i haven't read thorough the whole site but see there is A-level and equestrain side as well
Its in the south west

Stonar is fantastic but even more expensive than QE.
If you are a great rider and very strong academically it is possible to get scholarships to some of these schools but you need to be offering 4 Grade A potential at A-level and even then would probably only get about a third off the fees so still quite an expense.
If you are less academic you could consider the college route. I know one girl I taught who messed up her GCSE so badly she couldn't get into the 6th Form and spent 6 years at college ending up with her equine degree .

Two girls at our yard are at Stonar and I am sure that one definately got a scholarship, if you want to have a chat to them about it I am sure they will be around at Easter. If you could come over, I could put you in touch with them.

Im at regular 6 form and found a livery yard tucked away 15mins bike from college :D

Millfield School has a huge equestrian centre but again is not cheap - well worth it though, had an amazing time when i was there :D Or if you're looking to do a-levels why not consider somewhere like Hartpury college which offers a-levels as well as ND/HND/degree courses

Thanks for your replies :) Will look into Millfield but doubt I could afford it
Sophini I didn't know Hartpury offered A-levels :D Will go have a look thanks! Do you know if you can do them at the same time as horsey qualifications? Because thats what I was hoping to do :) Thought it would be good to get horsey and non horsey qualifications in one go  :p
CurlyWurlyRach I think I will end up staying at my schools 6th form and continue to keep my horse at my stables which is a 10-15 min walk from home  It would be far more exciting to go somewhere else though hehe
lizzy that would be great thanks!

Aramis used to be at QE, with her old owner who is my age. Apparently she was having a lesson on her in the outdoor school when another horse started bolting and Aramis decided to join in, dumped her owner and fractured her pelvis. I also heard they fed all the horses competition mix there, which im not too sure about.
