Well I've not had the best of weeks riding wise.
Twig decided on Sunday to do his best to remove my kneecap on a gate :o He barged through a gate which just wasn't open wide enough for us both and caught my knee on the side of it. I now have a small hole in my jods on my knee and when I took them off I had a couple of cuts (think there was a nail sticking out of the gate...very safe  ) and a fair bit of blood on my jods. Anyway the colour is just beginning to come out and the swelling is going down, it's a luuuuuuuuuurvely shade of yellow :D
So today I popped to the farm with a bit of a hangover and decided to do a bit of jumping in the indoor. Twig wasn't really pleased to see me and wasn't happy to be tacked up which is most unlike him...he must have just been having a bad day cos he was in a right strop for no apparent reason.
I'm taking him jumping to a show on sunday (fingers crossed) so thought I'd get a bit of practice in seen as I had the indoor to myself. He's really spooky with fillers so I thought I'd make a jump out of jump blocks on their side (hope you get what I mean) to give the idea of a filler. Well we cantered in with Twig looking ready to pop the fence and the little *ahem* monster stopped dead leaving poor mum to go sailing over his head onto the jump blocks :o  :o
I'm usually so good when he stops, I'm ready for it and sit up but I really thought he was going to jump it first time. Needless to say that when I got back on he lept it like it was going to bite his heels off and then popped it happily for the rest of our session, typical silly pony.
*whispers* you really should see the amazing plum coloured bruise that I now have on my bum :p
