How to teach a pony aids....:(????

Hey, :D
I would like to know how to teach a pony weight aids...I feel he doesn't know it very well because the people before us didn't know how to use them! any help? PLEASSEEE???:( :(

all i can suggest is teach him slowly and gradually. whenever you ride, start applying weight aids ALONG with the aids he's used to. gradually, over a period of time (could be a month, could be less, could be more, depends on how quickly your pony picks things up), focus more on your weight aids and less on the reins and heels, until he responds to them well and doesn't need the old aids anymore. although, even after you've stopped using him, he may need the reassurance of his old aids in situations when he's confused or frightened.

if anyone has any corrections or suggestions about what i've said, feel free to mention something! i'm not *that* experienced in training ...

what i meant by "old aids" was the aids he's used to - the ones he currently knows. hope that helps!
