Went and sat in the field with ella last night just like it says to do in the first part of level 1.

only to realize that the fence was broke so she could easy step over and be in grass so took her out to put her in a different mud field.Ella was really good comeing out of the field then she saw a small part of grass and draged me over so my natural reaction was to shout no and smack her with my hand. Not a good idea as i am trying to get her to trust me but its so easy to do the old ways ( i mean how i was told to do things).I now look at other people and so many shout at there horse hit them and even smack them.Going back to the field i just sat there ella snifed my boots then just stood over i was not sure what to do so i just looked away she walk off but she stayed close bye so she could see what i was doing.Did'nt do the full 30 mins as was geting cold in just a t-shirt.

I just hope that i will start to think amd not get angry.

It sounds like you are well on your way to understanding your horse better. You can't get angry with them for just doing something natural like wanting grass. Good luck, I think you will do just fine!

The first step to solving a problem, is to admit that you have one. :) Good luck, you are well on your way! x

Next time she does that, just put your foot down on the ground in front of her nose to prevent her from eating & say "up" while you pull up on the lead.

After a few of these, she should get tired of meeting a boot instead of grass & start paying attention to you.

It's not easy (no matter what size the horse/pony) but just be consistant & patient. After all who came blame her; the grass is always so much better on the other side of the fence especially when attached to a human:D
