Shay is not so keen on me getting on him bareback, he gave me 'the look' and moved his bum away. Im thinking of getting a bareback pad so I can still ride him bareback, but he may be more comfortable with something on his back (hes fine with saddles).
So what are people favourite bareback pads?
Ive looked at the best friend one, seems really good with the non slip, but it works out about £50. Anyone know any cheaper ones?

I've seen other ones, but I think there's a reason why Bestfriend pads don't come up on eBay very often: once you've got one, you tend to keep it :) It would still be worth looking out for one, you never know, and they wear well so would still be worth buying second hand.

It's sticking me on to Jackson very nicely, despite the scary withers and prominent spine, and he seems happy with it - after the first few goes, he actually walks over to the wall and lines himself up so I can get on ;)

Although I do need a saddle soon... Have you ever seen the Trekker Master? The one that looks a bit like the Fhoenix? I hear it's good for high withers... Sorry, I know OT but you're good on treeless saddles :-)

thankyou, ive scouted ebay but only seen the wool ones and some stiped ones, would defiantly jump on a best friend one if it came up on ebay.

A few have come up often from the same seller (I might get one when I have the money) and sell for about a teener less including p&p than the chepest I found elsewhere. Might be worth contacting them to see if they have anymore going :)

The Best Friend pads are brilliant, in my opinion they're just as good as the Parelli bareback pads.

I've had mine for nearly three years and it's still as good as new. :)

I LOVE my best friend bareback pad!!!:) I did manage to get mine on eBay but it was luck really coz the last few minutes were non stop bidding so it was only by luck I was highest bidder in the end:)
