Hi,

Has anyone heard of Gallop bridles like this one:

I've never heard of the make so don't know if its good quality but it looks nice to me!
It doesn't say its english leather so should I stay away?

If not does anyone know of something similar thats good quality, I don't want to spend over £100 really.

Thank you :D

I've never heard of the make. I have noticed that there is a lot of stuff under it listed on ebay, but I won't buy what I don't know without recommendation.

'Buy cheep, buy twice' comes to mind ;)

I have one - it's ok! Probably not one that you would want to use for best - it has done Sidney ok and is now being used on Dylan so that's constant use for 2.5yrs and it's still ok!

The only thing fit for Gallop tack is the bin!! (and those ones on ebay are overpriced by far:cool: )

Has anyone actually ever brought a gallop saddle and what are they like?

I bought that one a couple of years ago though only paid about 18 pounds (pound sign isn't working  ) plus p&p. Quality's pretty good for what you'd expect for that price (it's not too stiff) and I only bought it for schooling at home/hacking. Only not using it now as the browband's a bit small for my new lad and I haven't got round to buying a new one.

gllop saddles have cropped up on here before, i think there was a unanimous vote to stay well away.

I bought a gallop saddle when I first had Sidney. It was called a trekking/hacking saddle and was very comfy and fitted sid well but it didn't do me any favours position wise. But I still did a couple of dressage tests in it! :p

When I got the saddle fitter out to fit a new saddle for him she said it fitted him well.

But, the leather under the flaps where the girth does up is quite scratched - asides from that it is in good condition. But it only had about a years use (if that).

So, I guess they are what they are considering the price!
