A riding school section?

I was thinking about having an area of the forum where a list of RS's could be?
Each New Rider Memeber could post their own RS onto this part of the forum and its information with it (eg Website, address)? It means that if we get any complete beginners looking for a riding school the chance to veiw our own riding schools and plus we could get to find out where each other memeber rides and it shows us the wide varity of places avalible.

I just think its a good idea for anyone wanting to change riding schools or find a new one alltogether? This section could have all the needed info on each RS like its facilities and opening times.

Tell me what you all think.... its just an idea. :)

However an area where RS riders could post might just be helpful. Our rides are constantly referred to as "plods", "typical RS horses," etc etc and our riding efforts considered derisory by some. Posts can be ignored due to an assumed lack of knowledge. Comments like "anyone who has not got their own horse is a novice rider...." abound

Even worse often when former RS class mates go off and get their own horses they join this superior world.

So a little world of our own (I'm sure thats a very very very old song) might be really nice....

I would really like that. Would be really interesting to see what people at different schools do in different lessons. Would also be a place for numerous threads that crop up such as " how much do you pay for a lesson"? etc.
There is, unfortunately, sometimes a bit of snobbery, which I can't understand as there are some fantastic riders at RS and we all had to start somewhere.

The only problem would be if someone slated a particular school (even if they were right to) we would end up ina similar siuation as we end up in when discussing dealers

I think it's a good idea. It would be nice to have 1st hand information about riding schools/livery yards as that would be helpful for peeps that are trying to choose one.

I think its a great idea. Obviously no naming of school is a given if comments are negative but it would be useful to compare approaches, lesson content, RI techniques, horses, costs, number in classes etc etc:)

I think its a good idea, although it will need to be carefully checked so no-one says anything really bad cos we could be done for slander.

There's a bit in the classified section about riding schools I think? But that doesn't include opinions on the yard which is what everyine wants.
But I agree an actual forum discussing riding schools (it could have livery yards too as they come up qute alot too and maybe instructors?) would be a great idea. Obviously if anyone had anything bad to say about somewhere it would have to be PM'd but otherwise sounds good to me.

How about adding a comments area in the existing classified area?
You could submit your opinions on the yard, and if the mods think they are suitable, they are put up as feedback for others.
