Some of you may have noticed I have been asking question after question about turnout for M&M classes, since I was hoping to do something with my share pony this summer.

Well.....his mum has decided that she will probably be getting a treeless as his new saddle. Now given how bad for him the last one was, if this works for him than fantastic, butI guess that ends the showing ideas.

Is there anything ridden that would allow this, or am I going to have to risk my fingers and go in hand if I want to do anything?

Can't you show in a treeless then? (genuine question - I really don't know!). What little showing I did (it's really not my thing) I just used whatever saddle I was riding the horse in at the time..

Keep your eyes peeled for a decent 2nd hand showing saddle, they do come up.. Dont give up just yet xx When I was saving up for kais Saddle ( I really Fancied a Western) I sold loads of old clothes/tack/nic nacks on ebay, and I actually made enougth to buy one after a month! Well worth it for some instant cash for a big treat for yourself!! :D ;)

As he's not my horse, and I'm a student struggling to pay the mortgage I don't think I am in the window for saddle buying at the mo, as being a student I actually don't have anything of any value to sell!!! Have only been in myhouse 18 months, and although there is plenty of accumulated crap-it is all paperwork :p ha ha

Aside from that, showing isn't really anything I personally am interested in, just rie this pony and wanted to do something with him, and don't think we will be ready for anything involving vertical skill, but he's a nice forest bred NF and I thought I could have a play.

We shall see how the treeless goes though, hes already had several saddles without success, and owner seems more conerned with getting one quick right now

If you've got the £ then something like the Fhoenix or the Kay Humphries treeless can (and have) been used in showing. I'm not sure how they'd go down with some of the old school judges but they do look pretty 'normal' once you're on board.

local level you're unlikely to be the only one in unconventional tack. they are often bulky though, and seem to cover the back right down to the rump, so they don't do much for the picture. you can dressage in them too.

go and enjoy it!

there are plenty of treeless saddles on the market that you can show in now.
obviously the more expensive ons look better, i have shown in my ansur classic and ansur konklusion without even a second look. i could happly show in my fhoenix. people have shown in the freeform and im pretty sure youd get away with showing in the barefoot london, you could definatly show in the startrekk dressage and the iceline.
dont discard showing yet until youve had a chance to look around at whats available
