I posted a thread a while ago but know iv got pics.just a reminder that ringworm has been ruled out and so has lice.In the pics you can see light patches and one large bald patch which shes had since march last year.We are waiting for the vet to call us back in a few days to give some adv but the have said they wont do an allergy test as its not sever enough.Any advice would be welcome,if anyone has had sim problems.

Any chance it could be mites which cause mange? I only ask because my horse has big bald patches and flaky bits and it has been diagnosed as chorioptic mange. Some of his patches are just bald, some are crusty and some are weepy. To be perfectly honest, we had been treating him for typical mud fever symptoms and it turns out not to be that at all. We only got the vet out because the "mud fever" scabs had spread to his face and body.

Ill ask the vet when he calls me back,if it was mites what would the skin be like as the bald patches she has are smooth not weepy or crusty just nice and smooth, she doesnt seem to have dry skin so im at a loss. They have gotten worse over the last 6 months, when we brought her she didnt have them (other than the large one seen on the photo) and she was only being fed on hayledge, when we got her she was under weight so we put he on some hard feed as well as hayledge and thats when we started to notice these patches.
We need to get this sorted as 5 months ago we were accused of having ringworm and the hole yard turned on us as if it was our fault and it was awfull and i dont want that to happen again.

Hi just a quick update the vet called back today and we are going to try a shampoo and spray to treat mites and lice and then take it from there,he also mentioned it may be a mild form of sweet ich.
Has anyone else have this problem.:D
