Does anybody have an overview of which saddleries actually still make wool-flocked saddles and which have now switched over to foam (or similar)?
If you know what's in your saddle, would you post the brand and what kind of panel they have? Thanks!
I have County saddles. They are wool-flocked.

You only get a foam panel in a whippy panel, like you find in close contact and SJ saddles.
My saddle, I made with a set seat, which is a wool flocked seat instead of foam, this should last longer!
We used to make both kinds, but they style dictated whether it was wool or foam panels.

Wow. That's interesting Wally! So basically all dressage saddles are wool-flocked by default but jumping saddles could be either?

Scrolling down you have a mis of foam and wool flock (I hope) panels in these saddles.
Foam Panels are Nos. 1, 2, 3, 6,10, 13, 14, 15, 17-18, 20, 23, 25, 26, 27, 28.
and stuffed flocked panels are Nos 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 11, 12, 16, 19, 21, 22, 24.
You can have a dressage saddle with a whipped panel if you want, I have a feeling Albion have done them in the past.

They are not admitting it though :D.
Pumpkin has been taking some good long naps today so I had time to do some sleuthing. I emailed most every saddlery I could think of and came up with this:

Interesting about the synthetic fibers. I hadn't even thought of those!

My Crosby Centennial WAS made with foam, but I just had it switched over to wool. My other Crosby, however, which is the Prix des Nations is wool. So Crosbys are either wool or foam depending on their model.

I have just had sadler out to my saddle. Unfortunately doesn't quite fit anymore and he told me nothing he coul do to adjust it as it was foam not flocked. Does anyone know whether you can just change foam to flocking or do I need to start again with another saddle?
