Hi

I don't know about within London, but I keep my mare near Ascot which is out towards Windsor. I thought I would let you know how much I pay incase you get no reponses from people from London.

i know that some yards seem to have different classifications of full and part livery so I have given a brief description of what is/is not included.

Part livery is £287 per calendar month which includes mucking out, feeding, watering, turnout, bringing in, picking out feet, applying medical treatments etc. It does not involve them grooming or exercising my horse.
Full livery which is where they also exercise your horse, lunge, clean tack etc is about £350 - £380 per calendar month.

Working livery, where they can use your horse in the riding school is about £200 per calendar month.

I know this may seem expensive but it is a very nice yard with good facilities. The only thing I don't like is that they cannot offer all-year turnout but this seems to be the case with quite a few places now. Some yards charge by the week, some every 4 weeks or some like mine on the 1st of each month. This can also make a difference to the cost as what souunds cheaper, over the year may not necessarily be so.

I am not sure how much more expensive London would be as Ascot seems to be a fairly expensive place to keep horses, although compare to some in our area, ours is quite reasonable!

Good luck and look forward to hearing back from you.

PS Also saw your question in Equiworld but thought I would try to help on this site !

Hello Camilla,

I wonder if you have had any luck in finding stables in London yet?

I keep my horse at a livery yard called Priory Farm Stables in Langley, Berkshire. We are about 20-30 minutes from Central London as we have easy access to a major Motorway. We are very near to Windsor Castle (about 5 miles).

Keeping your horse in London would be extremely expensive. My yard offers Part Livery for £250 per month. I have found this to be very competitive for this area. This includes turn out in the field and bringing in and rugs (in colder months), mucking out, feeding but not grooming. If you require additional services, such as exercise, mane pulling etc. this can also be arranged with our groom. We have an outdoor menage 25x50m with lights and access to good instructors. I compete at Medium level dressage and we have an International Grand Prix trainer visit us or it is only a 20 minute hack across the park to her yard where she has a 25x60m menage.

Other owners prefer jumping and we also have a very good show jumping trainer. There are many different competition venues within a short box ride away. The owner of the yard is willing to box people to shows.

We are a very small and friendly yard with riders of all different abilities. We have room for two more part liveries which would take us up to our maximum of 13 horses. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you want more information.

Hope to hear from you.
