I wormed Cupcake last Saturday, this is the first time I've ever wormed her and would highly doubt her being wormed in the last 4 or more years. She's in a huge dusty paddock with only Skye, she doesn't come in contact with any other horses.

So I wormed her and went to check on them today (Wednesday), Skye, who had been wormed on the same day was fine but Cupcake had an accident. She had diarrhea down her legs and tail. Her mood and everything was fine except from that.

I was just wondering wether she could have gotten sick from being wormed? Was the wormer just doing what it's meant to? She's all cleaned up now and seems non the worse. I'm thinking it might just have been the worms being let out

If a horse has a heavy burden of worms which are then suddenly and completely killed off this can purge the gut - causing tummy upset. If it were me I would probably put her on a course of probiotics to re-build the gut flora to help re-balance everything :p
