braiding

I am interested in any information on braiding manes and tails. I particularly am interested in polo and hunter styles.

I have never seen a polo pony with a braided mane! We used to plait the tail as follows - start a normal plait just below the dock (divide tail in three type plait, not like a french plait used for showing) then go right down to the end. Tape the end or put on a rubber band. Fold the tail up at the dock as many times as necessary to make the tail stop at the dock then wrap tape round the dock and folded up tail. The aim of this is just to get it out of the way.

Can't help with Hunter plaits, sorry!
