I have never heard about giving Marmite to horses.
Just to check, we are talking about the veg/salt flavored thick-black-spread, right?
Please explain...

Vegemite's the real deal!
Never heard of anyone putting it in horse feeds though, what's the benefit?
If anyone is game you should try vegemite pancakes, very yummy!

Ive heard a spoon full of marmite or veggimite in there feed can help repel flies in the summer:)or you could always smear a small amount on a slice of bread.
Was told about this by someone who's horse had sweetich

Ours go mad for marmite, we dip the end of a carrot or piece of apple in it.Not sure about the RDA either.
Apparently, helps to keep flies away, also just thinking about it, its very salty - maybe thats why they like it ?

It's meant to be because its full of B vitamins, thats what the flies hate, I cant stand marmite but started taking B vits last year because I was getting horrendous bites when i was at the yard and hey presto the little blighters stopped biting me!
